Thor 1/96 Seawolf with a D&E 3 inch WTC
More on the the Seawolf build.
The kit looked like this when I first received it. A very good kit and one of Matt's best.
The first thing was to make the Z cut and cut the tail cone and bow.
The seam gets indexed and gapped with filler. This hull had sat for many years and had a bad warp. It was corrected using Evercoat Metal glaze.
Cutting out of the drains using a dremel tool to start and finishing it off with small files and sand paper.
This hull was very well scribed with scale details but some of them always get sanded away in the seaming process. I made templates to scribe back some of this detail.
Installing the WTC mounts and lining up the prop shaft.
Pump jet and stern planes installed.
Appendages and parts finished off and primered before installation.
Work on the sail and mast as well as the bow planes.
Finished interior set up of the hull primered and ready to go.
One of the control horns I made up and the finished WTC installation.
Beginning of the paint job.
And the finished paint job. I used Model Masters Acrylics, colored pencils and pastels.
Finished boat during trimming and pool trials. Last picture shows her in near perfect trim, submerged and with the sail top just above the water line.
