RC Aircraft

For years I have built and flown RC aircraft both planes and jets.

My favorites are vintage or early jets, fighter planes and bombers from WW2.

I have both built kits and scratch built jets and planes from wood to foam. I also made masters that were later cast in epoxy glass from molds in order to make composite airframes.

Here are some pictures of my planes. I'll be adding more as I go here.

This was a Multiplex Cargo. I did this mod to make it look a bit like a B-17. Vacuumed formed parts and foam re-working. It has working bomb bays and is a lot of fun to fly. Planning to repaint it soon as the color has changed over the years to a blue green.

This is my 6 year old Titanic Airlines B-29. 81 inch span and flies on 4 motors all electric. Still going strong. This kit has been out of the making for 10 years now.

My wife got me this plane for our anniversary a couple of years ago now. Great flying EDF jet.

This is one of my all scratch built jets. Made a master of the body, epoxy mold and cast glass epoxy fuse. Powered by an electric EDF unit.

Here's an old flight video I found.

Another one of my larger EDF scratch builds. The TA-183 Huckebein. Again the fuse is epoxy glass cast from my molds.

Looking around the net I found two videos of my kit in flight. One EDF and the other Turbine powered.

John Wright who lend quite a hand in the later development of getting this bird to fly right built the turbine version.

Above is my scratch built X-1. This was made using the wire foam cutting process. Silk span and white glue was used to cover the bird. She use to be flown on old nimh batteries and a sp400 with a pusher prop. She was very strong flyer on that old setup. I may bring this one into present day wit a BL set up.

My Kevin Cox designed ever faithful F-18 EDF. Going on it's 6 year of flying.

Yours truly with his 7 year old B-29. Still flying and now on Li-poly batteries.

My original scratch built test bed for my later to be kit of the F-104. This was made for a 50 mm fan.

Here's the fiber glass epoxy version which flew off fixed gear.

I still have the molds and plan a rocket powered version of the plane.

My very old scratch built Vampire now retired after many years of flying.

My scratch built XB-70 that originally had an EDF mini unit in it. It flew OK but I was never happy. A bit to heavy and not enough power. I plan now to use a brushless pusher set up on it and hand launch it. All balsa construction form my own plans.
